Hillcrest is a spacious three bedroom detached house with its own private gardens situated within a quiet cu-de-sac over looking the seaside town of Minehead. Recently fitted out to a high standard, 2009 sees Hillcrest available to the self catering holiday market for the first time.

Minehead is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and Hillcrest provides the perfect base for your holiday, whether you are interested in walking, fishing, golf, shooting, steam railways or many of the other diverse activities available within West Somerset and Exmoor area.

Gateway to Exmoor

Exmoor National Park straddles two counties, with 70% of the park located in Somerset and the remainder located in Devon. The total area of the park, which includes the Brendan Hills and the Vale of Porlock, covers 267 square miles (691.5 km²) of open moorland and includes 34 miles (55 km) of coastline.

There are a number of small villages and hamlets, the largest towns are Minehead, Dunster, Porlock, Dulverton, Lynton, and Lynmouth, which between them account for almost 40% of the areas population. Lynton and Lynmouth are combined into one parish and are connected by the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway.

Prior to being a park, Exmoor was a Royal Forest and hunting ground, which was sold off in 1818. Exmoor was one of the first British National Parks, designated in 1954, under the 1949 National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act and is named after the River Exe, the main river that flows out of the district.
